An extra-large, Victorian era locket, modeled in high-color 14k yellow gold, whose face is set witha sparkling 1/3 carat white diamond. The locket is decorated, edge-to-edge, front and back, with ornate, hand-engraved plumes and curls. A plump, languid flower rests amid these swirling forms, at the center of the locket’s face, where the diamond marks its center. This is an especially lovely old locket— the hand engraving is deep, confident, and expressive. Its gestalt is minimal, making it is easy to wear, butitsopulent details reveal themselves, quickly, with a second glance. This locket's large size makes it ideal for holding photos—it measures approx 1 3/4”, including the wonderful, decorative, triangular bail. Marked 14k for purity.

Notes
The diamond, here, is a transitional cut stone, thatreplaced the locket's original gem(webelieve in the 1930s-1940s). It is aclean, bright, lively diamond, and the work was nicely done (long ago), so we have decided to leave it as it is.
